pop/off/art gallery was founded in 2004 in Moscow by the art critic Sergey Popov. Olga Popova has been a partner of the gallery since 2011. The gallery presents Russian and European artists. It takes part in the largest contemporary art fairs in Russia and Europe. The gallery has organized several dozen museum projects in Russia. In 2012-2014 there was a branch in Berlin. It is located at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center in Moscow.
The gallery represents artists of several generations – from acknowledged contemporary art masters (Eric Bulatov, Yuri Zlotnikov, Arcady Petrov), to the leaders of today art scene (Irina Nakhova, Vitaly Pushnitsky, Olga and Oleg Tatarintsev) and to the rising stars (Anna Afonina, Ivan Novikov). A number of artists work with various media. Works by all the gallery’s artists are held in various museum collections all over the world. Most of the artists have been awarded national and international prizes, many have participated in key recurrent exhibitions (Documenta, Venice Biennale, etc.)
In addition to direct sales and collection activities for contemporary art, the gallery provides advice on the international art market and investment in contemporary art.
The creed of pop/off/art’s creator, Sergey Popov, art historian and curator, and one of the leading specialists on the history of contemporary art, consists of this: prioritizing an individual approach to each new acquisition, while providing the client with the most information possible about modern art.
