"From and To" is the first exhibition by artist Vladimir Potapov together with his sons Ivan and Bogdan. It is a family project about a separation that cannot be undone, and about a wholeness that cannot be destroyed.
Through the relationship of twin brothers and their dialogue with each other, the first difference emerges: brother from brother. Then, the rift between generations: sons and father. And beyond that, the historical lines of fracture.
The separation of the brothers from each other and their gradual separation from the father create a family microcosm against the backdrop of a historical macrocosm in Vladimir's installation, where literal division has its seams, parts, and historical contrasts. Vladimir Potapov's work bookends the exhibition, rhyming with the sons' paintings.
You can visit the exhibition and experience the personal and collective at the Korney Gallery (6 Ashcheulov Lane) until August 23.
