The research continues with an exhibition at the multimedia art space "Tsekh" in Nizhny Novgorod, which presents expedition findings, documentary materials, and artistic objects, including an installation featuring a fragment of the Vasyugan swamp. Here is what the artist himself says about working on the project: "My task was to understand how to combine scientific and artistic approaches. What was important to me was not a directive artistic intervention into the local context, but attention to what the people and the place I visited could show me. Together with researchers from Tomsk State University, we made an expedition to the Vasyugan swamps and conducted studies. During the process, we talked a lot about global warming, the influence of swamps on the planet's biosphere, the structure of sphagnum moss, and how this moss changes ecosystems to suit itself, constantly expanding the swamps. Together we discussed how science and art can be united. In the end, we came up with three installations." To get better acquainted with the project, we recommend checking out the website dedicated to it. The exhibition at the "Tsekh" space runs until December 15. Photo: Anton Baklykov
