Vasily Kononov-Gredin (1990, Urzhum, Kirov region) – contemporary artist, works with sculpture, video, objects, painting, sound. In his works, he explores the boundaries of the ritual, raises the theme of time, the variability and duality of man, the dualism of spirit and body. Explores subjectivity, the place of individual experience, deep memory and the boundaries of autonomy in their interaction with political, cultural, physical and other conditions, as well as with communication procedures, knowledge infrastructures and systems of administration of the sensual and social.
Graduated from the Vyatka Art College, the BAZA Institute of Contemporary Art. Laureate of the grant program of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (2019, Moscow), laureate of Aesthetica artprize (2020, York). Participant of the 6th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art (2021). The artist's works are in large private and corporate collections in Russia and abroad. Lives and works in Moscow.
