Ivan Plusch (real name – Ivan Sergeyevich Pluschev) was born in 1981 in Leningrad (since 1991 Saint Petersburg). In 2009 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, Department of Monumental Painting. During his study, in 2007 he became the co-founder and leader of the group "Unconquered". Ivan Plusch is a multiple participant of Youth Biennales, a participant of the Parallel program "Manifest 10" (St. Petersburg, 2014), the Parallel program of the Venice Biennale, an organizer and a participant of numerous contemporary art projects in Russia and in European countries. In 2013 Plusch became the laureate of the prize «Innovation» and the award named after Sergey Kuryokhin for the installation "Process of Passing II"; later this work was included in the Hermitage collection. The artist works on the series the themes and characters of which gradually develop and evolve into a complex imaginative world. In the late 2010s Plusch and a group of programmers began to work with generative algorithms, thus he has become one of the first artists in the world who had created paintings in collaboration with artificial intelligence. In 2019 within the project "After" Plusch also created video works in the NFT format. He lives in Budapest and St. Petersburg.
