The project by Vika Begalskaya “The Only Ones”/Alleine” is born from observations of real women who have been waiting for a sacral moment all their life, when they’ve stopped being lonely but have become the only ones. In this search for love the artist can see existential sense of life. The title of the project and the bright language of expression lead the spectator to German neo-expressionism of “New Wild” («Neue Wilden») – Jorg Immendorf, Riner Fetting amd Mark Luperts. Contemporary embodiment of this tradition, audacity of colour combination and sensitive plastic arts let Vika create bright images that significantly reveal emotional states by transforming contemplated emotional content into the skin of zest for life and limitless optimism. Vika Begalskajya is a participant of international exhibitions of contemporary art: World Visual Arts Biennale 2007 in Paris; the 1st and the 2nd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, ArtDigital in 2005 and 2007. Works by Vika Begalskaya are kept in the biggest private and museum collections, including The Tretyakov Gallery. A new series of pictures will be exhibited at the ERA Foundation.
